What AI changes

A surface that learns from the prescription, not just a formula.

Standard freeform design starts from a known curve and adjusts it. AI-Lens starts from the wearer's prescription, frame geometry, and usage pattern, and lets the algorithm search for the surface that performs best against all three at once — then keeps refining it the way a human designer never could, point by point, across the entire lens.

  • Personalized to prescription and frame together
  • Continuously refined, not manually adjusted
  • Designed for real-world viewing behavior
What the wearer notices

Eight ways an AI-optimized surface shows up in daily wear.

None of this needs to be explained to a customer — it's felt the moment they put the glasses on.

Unrestricted peripheral vision
No swim effect in dynamic vision
Wider, more comfortable reading zone
No visual fatigue during computer use
High-definition image precision
Adapts uniquely to each wearer
Protected, healthy vision
All the benefits of a glare-free lens

Where it started

Six years of R&D, before "AI" was the headline.

In 2018, the Novar research team opened an internal project to let a lens design autonomously optimize its own relaxation zones, using genetic-algorithm search rather than a fixed formula — years before AI-assisted design became an industry talking point. That early work is the foundation AI-Lens is built on today.

Under the surface

Three technologies, one AI-optimized lens.

AI-Lens isn't a single trick — it's an algorithm working on top of GRVision's existing freeform manufacturing stack.

01

AI-GET Technology

Reads prescription, frame geometry, and usage pattern as one combined input — then searches for the surface that performs best across all three, rather than selecting a stock curve after the fact.

02

Continuum Design Technology

Shapes the lens across infinite control points instead of segmented zones, so the AI's optimization holds together as one continuous surface — not a patchwork of corrected regions.

03

Freeform Technology

The manufacturing precision that makes an AI-optimized design producible at all — every point on the surface cut to its own calculated value, on equipment sourced from the USA and Germany.
